A benchmark South African Pinot Noir from the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hamilton Russell’s 2021 vintage is a wine of depth, elegance, and terroir expression. Grown on low-vigour, clay-rich soils and aged for 10 months in French oak (29% new), it reveals a complex bouquet of dark cherry, plum, raspberry, and savoury spice. The palate is layered and mineral-driven, with sinewy tannins, subtle oak, and a long, refined finish. A wine of Burgundian finesse with South African soul—ideal with duck, mushroom risotto, or grilled lamb.
